How to Delete Your Account
Follow these steps inside the Yalla English app:
- Open the Yalla English app on your device.
- Go to Settings (tap the settings icon or menu).
- Tap Account, then select Delete Account.
- Read the confirmation details and tap the confirm button to continue.
- If prompted, re-authenticate with your email/password or Google account to verify your identity before deletion proceeds.
What Is Deleted
When the deletion flow completes, the following data associated with your account is permanently removed:
- Your Firebase Authentication account (login credentials);
- Your cloud progress data stored in Firestore, including lesson progress and completion records;
- Saved words and favorites synchronized to the cloud;
- Usage and progress documents, including listening time, streaks, and daily goals;
- App-linked learning data stored under your account in the current schema;
- Local app data on the current device, including downloaded lesson audio, cached content, preferences, and locally stored review/quiz history.
Local Data on Other Devices
Local app data (downloaded audio, device-only quiz or grammar history) on other devices you have used may remain until you uninstall the app or clear its data on those devices. Uninstalling the app removes locally stored data on that device.
Backup and Operational Records
Some backup, log, or security records may be retained temporarily where required for legitimate operational, legal, or security purposes. These are not used to restore your account or provide app services and are subject to standard retention limits.
